Nadine Ward. A lifetime of service & leadership.
“I have spent the last 26 years serving on City of Mesquite boards and commissions, from Planning & Zoning Commission, to 4B Quality of Life Corporation and the Mesquite Economic Development Advisory Board. I have the experience and the knowledge of how to get things done at City Hall.
Beginning around age 6, my introduction to leadership was through 4-H, a network of organizations whose mission is engaging youth to reach their fullest potential by developing citizenship, leadership, responsibility, and life skills through experiential positive learning programs, and thus allowing for personal growth and career success.
Along with being an active 4-H member, my parents instilled in us the importance of community participation. They taught us that for a community to thrive, its citizens must grow and learn to take care of one another. Whether it was through organizing and collecting for The March of Dimes or St. Jude, or fundraising efforts to support local charities and religious organizations, we were taught that it truly takes an entire community of people coming together for a cause.
It was through community participation and 4-H that I learned the most valuable lessons in life, and how to work with others for the betterment of my community.
Since then, I have been involved in numerous organizations:
Leadership Mesquite, Class of 2024
Mesquite Economic Development Advisory Board
4B Quality of Life Corporation Board of Directors
Planning & Zoning Commission
Mesquite Citizens Police Academy
Mesquite Citizens Fire Academy
Mesquite Service League
Mesquite ISD bond referendum 2025
Valley Creek/Tealwood Neighborhood Association
Union Gospel Mission Volunteer
St Clair County 4H
(partial listing)
I am proud to say I have learned a lot and gained valuable insight through each. At the same time, my career experience is in the legal field, so I have a unique perspective about how government should work for the people. I am strong on transparency and ethics in government and firmly believe that the community needs to be able to trust its government officials for all to prosper within the city.”
